Speaker urges government to reduce prices as ruble grows
ST.PETERSBURG, Apr 27 (PRIME) -- Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko urged the government on Wednesday to reduce the prices in stores, as the ruble has returned to the pre-crisis exchange rate.
"The government must take clear steps, this is unfair," Matviyenko said, adding that the retailers must also make an effort to cut the prices. "Let us put the previous price tags with the ruble."
According to Matviyenko, the prices increased by 30–70% regardless of whether the products have the U.S. dollar components.
